The wrapper for this set is unusual in that it does not give the set a title, and it also only provides silhouettes of the 8 models contained therein.
The first and second edition wrappers not only lack a title, but also lack a set number.  In addition, at the top of the wrapper, it says, “ 6 Micromodels”, whilst in the middle of the wrapper it says, “8 complete models”. Someone obviously lacked concentration when designing this wrapper!

The set contains the following locomotives and wagons:

  • GWR 2-6-2 Prairie Class Tank Loco
  • LNER 0-6-0 “J 50” Class Tank Loco
  • LMS 0-4-0 Shunting Saddle Tank Loco
  • 14 Ton Tank Wagon
  • LNER Box Van
  • SR Insulated Meat Van
  • LMS Goods Brake Van
  • NER Open Goods Wagon

The GWR Tank Loco is inaccurate. The boiler and the firebox do not fit between the side tanks. Michael Kaintoch built this model in scale 1:250 . He first glued the cab’s front and end into the cab and tank unit, and then carefully trimmed the tank tops and sides until the boiler and firebox smoothly went between them.

Micromodels London published a reprint.

Mike Trice adapted the J 50 Tank. On this page you can see how to adapt a model to a new version.
