There is also a known copy with the 1/3d price overprinted with 1/9d. Catalogued as out of print in 1952. No stocks passed to Broadway Approvals in 1956. The A I set is one of the rarest micromodels. In 1948 this model is also published at the price of 1/- in Australia by the publisher James G. Conolly Pty. Ltd. under licence of Micromodels Ltd. It was sold in booklet form. Micromodels London has designed a wrapper, and has the intention to publish the model in the near future. Robin Madge, who has built this set, has some remarks about building the Canadian Pacific: “ It is important to get the domed front of the smokebox door to not look flat in order to capture the character of the original locomotive and this is not mentioned in the instructions. On the loco there is an obvious space below the boiler in front of the driving wheels which does not reconcile with the usual micromodel chassis block, more thought required here. The notes show the buffers being made from wood, not mentioning that the CPR used a central coupling. ” |
