Description First isssued in 1948 at 1/6d.
There is also a version at 1/8d with a price sticker over the original price. This is done by Broadway Approvals in 1958.
Never catalogued as out of print.
Survived right through to Broadway Approvals in the 1958 color catalogue “Micromodel Kits“, although no significant stocks passed on to the Watford Model Supply Co. in 1971.

Autocraft has reïssued the model. Micromodels London has designed a wrapper, and has the intention to publish the model in the near future.

It was this set that was used in all the Micromodels advertising of the early period.

The New York Central loco  is a “Niagara” S1B class,  a solid design and well liked but none are preserved.
The Australian loco is a Victorian Railways  S class streamlined pacific “Edward Henty”. These were originally  built in non-streamlined form.

Robin Madge has some remarks about the New York Central loco:

“ There is one part, a rear ladder on the tender side which is drawn wrong handed. This can be corrected by cutting off the upward extension and positioning it separately back to front, once painted it is OK. The footplate parts are difficult to locate securely as they only fix properly at each end.”
